Coastal Dusk Arrives on East Beach
With over 100 miles of coastline, Hertford, NC is the perfect topic for painting the beauty of waterways. Join your instructor, Catherine Hillis, for a two day workshop covering composition, working with shapes and painting water, foliage and reflections. The instructor will present multiple demonstrations and provide individual coaching. Learn how to paint the beautiful waterways of North Carolina in the fluid medium.

The Watercolor Club is open to watercolorists of all levels. The group meets the third Monday of every month (unless otherwise posted) at the Perquimans County Recreation Center at 10 a.m. and paints until 1 p.m. Bring snacks and water. The sessions are free and member led. Examples of sessions include: sharing a new technique, a demo, a video or an introduction to a specific professional artist. The session is designed to develop skills and techniques. Membership in PAL is required since members receive added benefits like early registration for guest artists and discounts on classes. Watercolor classes are very popular at PAL! Six-week sessions are offered several times per year for all levels.
Watercolor artist Graham Berry of the UK came to Hertford in April to teach several very successful workshops.
PAL sponsored a one-week Art Camp at the end of June. Various artists taught a different technique each day, and participants were able to take home some beautiful creations.
